We had to have Teagan's birthday early because we were scheduled to have the baby on the 5th of October. We needed something really easy because I was just too pregnant for our usual parties. Teagan and I talked about a few ideas but finally settled on McDonald's. When I went to sign up I found out they only did parties Monday-Thursday. So Teagan's early party was scheduled for October 1st.
I really needed to get the invites delivered to each parent because we were not inviting the whole class. That took a while because I didn't know all of them so some had to be tracked down. Only two kids didn't get their invites because we couldn't figure out who their parents were. I was so surprised at how many kids showed up. Everyone that was invited from Teagan's class came except one for religous reasons. I thought that was so nice. Teagan was so excited. We teased him a little about how many girlfriends he had. He is finally old enough to not like being teased about that.
The party was fun. I'm not sure we would do McDonald's again unless we had to. I just think our parties at home are nice. But this worked out really well and all the kids were happy. Teagan got so many great presents and loved playing with all his friends. A really neat thing is several of his little friends are the children of our friends from high school. That is something cool about living in a small town.
The little kids had fun too. I kept losing Jade because she was up at the top of the playland. Some how she didn't get a happy meal. I think I miscounted. Mitchell shared his happy meal with her. Later she shared her cake with him. They are too cute. Kelsey told me Mitchell was walking around with a flat balloon and Teagan stopped playing with his friends to make sure Mitchell got a new balloon. Don't you love hearing sweet things your kids do? Thanks Kelsey.
When Teagan is opening presents look at the kids in the pictures. They are not grabbing things. Have you been to those parties where the kids are grabbing presents and walking off with them? The pieces are lost before you ever knew what should have been in the package. I've had those parties. Well check out these kids. They are just so happy to watch and so excited for Teagan. My favorite is the one where they are all laughing at the card he got. Such a sweet group of kids!
We got an extra cake so there would be plenty for the adults. Teagan picked out a transformer cake that had a transformer tank on it. He was soo excited about it. I can't tell you how many times he asked me if he would get a peice of that cake and could Clay have one and so and so would want one too. Thank you everyone that came. There were so many adults there too but between myself and the two other people taking pictures we didn't get any good ones of the grown ups. Sorry grown ups. We had a great time! Love you Teagan!
